Viktor Röthlin Trail - Blue

The new Viktor Röthlin trails on Melchsee-Frutt mean running fun for every fitness level, from the leisurely pleasure runner with little trail experience to the trail maniac who wants to be really tired in bed in the evening.

Welcome to my home in Obwalden. Running has allowed me to get to know many beautiful places in the world, but I have never lost my roots. And so I'm delighted to be able to show all running enthusiasts my three favorite trails on Melchsee Frutt.

Blue trail
We start our warm-up from the mountain station in an anti-clockwise direction around Lake Melchsee. From Distelboden, a short asphalt section takes us up to the right bank of the Tannensee, where you can see the beautiful mountain panorama reflected in the lake as you circle the lake. My personal highlight are the islands at the back of the Tannensee. Below the Bonistock, my trail leads us gently back to the Melchsee and past the Frutt Lodge to the starting point.

Have fun on my trails in the heart of Switzerland. And who knows, maybe we'll meet again soon. If you overtake me on one of my trails, please look back and say hello ;-)

Best regards
Viktor Röthlin

Equipment
The great thing about trail running is that you can leave your heavy hiking rucksack at home. Nevertheless, your trail running backpack should always include a rain jacket, enough water, a few energy bars and gels, as well as your cell phone. Personally, I always pack a Biberli. And of course you need proper trail running shoes for your feet. So that you have a good grip both uphill and downhill.
