Get that Scandinavian feeling in the middle of Switzerland: the cross-country circuit in the Langis area meanders through the Schlieren through a high moor landscape featuring birch trees, mountain pines and meadows. Spa guests once enjoyed healing mud and sulphur baths here in a dignified atmosphere.
The plateau of the Schlieren valley is an insider tip for nature lovers: the Langis area is accessible by PostBus from Sarnen and offers around 50 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski circuits. It is located right at the top of the Glaubenberg pass, which leads into the Entlebuch. Skiers can reach the starting points of all the circuits from the Langis car park about 300 metres away. Once you have mastered the 20-metre ascent, the skiing area is all yours. Towards the top, the mountain range is dominated by the Titlis, Hochstollen and Wetterhörner.

The first half of the Pirmin circuit heading towards Fröschenseeli is quite flat and crosses lightly wooded terrain. First past the Andresen hut, it heads towards Schwendi-Kaltbad with its Mother of God chapel. This is a reminder of the "cold bath in the Schwendi": at the beginning of the 17th century, a shepherd boy is said to have seen here how a limping deer dipped its leg into the water and pulled it out again in good health. Over the years, a well-known health resort developed, attracting more and more people hoping to find healing in the iron-rich waters. The renowned spa hotel burnt down in 1970. An outbuilding was then converted into a restaurant in the style of a Canadian log cabin.

But before we have earned a break, the circuit makes three more loops in the terrain and then crosses the Schliere. An ascent follows, then a leisurely section, optionally with a stop for refreshments in Schwendi-Kaltbad. After that, there are still a good two kilometres to cover to the finish.
