In the witches' paradise – Wirzweli/Wiesenberg

Two aerial cableways travel between Dallenwil and the Wirzweli area south of the Stanserhorn. Anyone wanting a Sunday brunch should make a beeline for the Alpenrestaurant Wirzweli, which is next to the upper cableway terminus: it's a great opportunity to fortify yourself with fruity, savoury and warm fare from the buffet before setting off on a walk. So let's go! A panoramic hike of almost three hours starts at Wiesenberg (Gummenalp) and takes you via Ächerli over to the Wiesenberg upper terminus. Children love climbing the Witches' Trail to the Gummenalp, but then they may be too tired for the subsequent hike. So instead, you could take the gondola cableway up to the Gummenalp. To return to the Engelberg valley, take the aerial cableway from Wiesenberg to Dallenwil.
