The Hochstollen round tour is a unique experience that calls for physical fitness and experience of the mountains. The footpaths are in good condition. Some sections are very steep. This panoramic hike is worth every bead of sweat.

Directions
The tour starts at the old cableway terminus at Melchsee-Frutt. We walk along Lake Melch to the Balmeregg cableway terminus. From here we walk steeply uphill to the Balmeregghorn. Sitting on the bench, we enjoy magnificent views of the Bernese Alps and the Titlis. With a bit of luck we might see marmots, chamois or ibexes on the easy footpath via Planplatte to Hääggen. Now we ascend again via Hohsträss to the Wit-Ris cutting and then follow a steep path to the Hochstollen. Breathtaking panoramic views are our reward for the effort. We see the Wetterhorn, numerous mountain lakes and even the Älggi, the geographical centre of Switzerland. After a picnic break, we tackle the steep descent via the Abgschütz to Lake Blau and return to Frutt.
Safety information

Die Hochstollen-Rundtour wird mit guter Kondition und Bergtauglichkeit ein einmaliges Bergerlebnis. Die Bergwege sind in gutem Zustand. Einige Abschnitte sind sehr steil.
