Fun nature trail from the Gerschnialp, above Engelberg, through the Gerschni forest down to the Bänklialp.
From Engelberg railway station, ride to the valley station of the Titlis Cableways and turn left along the tarred Gerschnistrasse (you have to reckon with factory traffic) through the forest in the direction of Untertrübsee. After the forest has cleared, the trail continues half right, along the road towards the Restaurant and Alpine Cheese Dairy Untertrübsee. After a few bends, a natural path leads off to the left to Gerschnialp, past the Gerschnialp alpine cheese dairy and the Gerschnialp - Café Ritz inn and on to the Gerschniwald. This is where the "Chatzäbalmäli Trail" starts. The nature trail leads right through the Gerschniwald and has some tricky sections - fun is guaranteed. The trail ends above the Hotel/Restaurant Bänklialp. The route then follows the road back to the starting point.
