The world's steepest cogwheel railway travels between Alpnachstad and Pilatus Kulm at alt. 2132 m.

The Pilatus in summer is the ideal mountain in terms of providing outdoor activities for all ages. Devotees of the great outdoors enjoy coming here for hiking, climbing, tobogganing and mountain biking. Also available: meetings and banquets at panoramic venues, events, attractions and a great deal of fun.

The summit of the Pilatus can be reached in winter using the cable car from Kriens / Fräkmüntegg. The delights in store include a 6 km toboggan run from Fräkmüntegg to Kriens, wonderful winter hikes through the woods and fabulous snowshoe treks.
