Solo exhibition of the artist Annemie Lieder, who lives in Sins.
In the summer of 2023, it is Annemie Lieder's turn with a survey of her work. She is connected with Engelberg through Werner Durrer, her grandmother's brother, who ran the Hotel Victoria until the fire in 1939. She also lives in Sins in Freiamt on the former property of the Engelberg monastery.
Annemie Lieder attended the textile department with Angelika Caviezel at the Lucerne School of Applied Arts. In 2011, she was awarded a work grant from the Zurich Esther Matossi Foundation. In 2019, she was awarded a studio residency at Kartause Ittingen. A large group of works of her drawings and watercolors of lace decorate the new care center Baar. In 2021, she was represented in the renowned Kamm Collection at the Kunsthaus Zug. In 2023 she will occupy the mobile container of the Kunsthaus Zug.
Artistic inspiration and precise powers of observation combine in Annemie Lieder with craftsmanship, concentration and perseverance. She uses all of this in embroidery and weaving, in meticulous drawing, etching and watercolor, in monotypes and objects. In her diverse work, she artistically transforms impressions of nature: Views through the tangle of leaves of a chestnut tree in Flüeli-Ranft, branches of a bush in the snow, barks covered with lichen, details from rock formations in Livorno, crow feathers in the park in Aarau. The inconspicuous, the fleeting, the ever-changing finds her attention. Annemie Lieder deals intensively with the obvious, often overlooked. Her works are eye-openers.
