Fishing in the geographical centre of Switzerland

Beautifully situated Lake Seefeld lies at alt. 1819 m. Immediately above Älggialp, the geographical centre of Switzerland, the small Melch valley ends at Seefeld near Sachseln.

It takes around 40 minutes to walk to picturesque Lake Seefeld from the Aelggialp mountain inn. Enjoy your hobby as you while away the hours.

Fishing in Lake Seefeld begins on 15 June and generally lasts until the end of September, though the season can last longer depending on the weather. The lake is home to rainbow and brown trout, char, lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) and burbot (Lota lota).

A licence is required to fish in Lake Seefeld in the geographical centre of Switzerland. A daily licence is CHF 30.00 (max. 6 fish per licence).
