Ideal on a sultry or rainy day: this 2.5 km nature trail leads follows lovely forest and nature paths and provides lots of information about nature and animals.
With over 40 graphic and illustrated information panels lining the trail, you learn everything about trees, shrubs, plants, wildlife and birds and their function, as well as the interaction of fauna and flora. The trail also shows what Lungern looked like about 15,000 years ago at the end of the last Ice Age.

You can still find erratic blocks from the Ice Age in Lungern, as well as interesting stone formations, which the ice has shaped like works of art over many years.

In addition to the entertaining journey back into the past, the panels also contain a wealth of information on the local natural and animal world. With a little observation, you might catch a glimpse of our fellow inhabitants in Lungern such as foxes, deer, owls, eagles, hawks or rabbits.
