A special licence is required to fish at Melchsee-Frutt. Half-day, day, week and season licences can be obtained from the tourist office in Kerns and Melchsee-Frutt and from the hotels in Melchsee-Frutt and Tannalp. A licence-vending machine is available for early risers in the old upper terminus at Melchsee-Frutt. This sells day licences for adults and young people.
