The Lungern-Turren aerial cableway only takes a few minutes to whisk you above the fog line at alt. 1562 m. This idyllic oasis above Lungern is perfect for anyone in search of tranquillity and recreation.
The reopening of the Lungern-Turren aerial cableway in 2016 breathed new life into the Lungern-Schönbüel recreational area, known throughout Switzerland. The cableway was overhauled and modernised. Its two new cabins have given it a completely new appearance. The Restaurant Turren, located just below the cableway, has a comfortable restaurant, a fondue parlour and a large self-service terrace. Located at alt. 2011 m, the higher Berghaus Schönbüel is a simple, cosy mountain refuge managed by a cooperative, the Friends of the Berghaus Schönbüel.
Between Lungern-Turren-Schönbüel is some fascinating flora and fauna, plus views of one of the most imposing mountain ranges in Switzerland – the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The area is also a springboard for numerous mountain outings.
The new aerial cableway means mountain bikers can easily reach the Turren and explore the terrain on various routes while savouring the magnificent vistas.
