The e-bike tour from Engelberg to Blackenalp takes you through beautiful natural surroundings, with plenty of opportunities to taste delicious local produce at Alpine inns and cheese dairies.

The tour starts at the Abbey’s artisan cheese dairy and takes the gentle uphill road to the Fürenalp valley cableway station. The valley gets gradually steeper and after around 1.5 km the terrain under your tyres changes to gravel. After that comes a steady uphill climb past the Herrenrüti and onwards to the Alpenrösli restaurant. Your e-bike’s motor will be tested on the final short but steep climb over coarse gravel to the Stäfeli. From the Stäfeli mountain pasture (where you will find the first Alpine dairy on the tour) the gravel roads veers to the right and crosses the Stierenbach stream. From there you ride along the undulating new forest road on the right-hand side of the valley, heading towards the Stäuber waterfall. You then continue on to the Blackenalp, where you can visit the Blackenalp Alpine dairy with its rustic mountain inn. Those who still have plenty of energy and don’t want to return home yet can take a detour up to the Steinäbnet and Surenen dairies in Äbnet. Upon your return to the waterfall, take the same route down to the Fürenalp valley station. The route will fork after you pass the gravel car park. Take the dirt path that leads into the woods. This will lead you past the golf course and along the Aa river back into the village.

Please note that depending on weather conditions (snow conditions) not all alpine cheese dairies are occupied in June.
